                Specific Objective:  Ss read short texts like quotations  to identify the message to develop reading comprehension and report information.    
                LEVEL: 1st. grade/beginners

ACTIVITIES

PRE TASK
Teacher presents the word “quotations”, by writing it on the board and asks ss the meaning of this word.
SS respond about the meaning, vague answers.
T explains the real meaning of quotations, by making emphasis that is something said by someone else.
T gives an example like : Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I have done it thousands of times. By Mark Twain.
T explains how to report facts and speeches like: Mark Twain said, Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. He knew it because He had done it thousands of times.
T explains that the first part doesn’t change because it’s fact for the person who said while the second part is, his reason why he said that.  (10 mins.)

REPORT

T gives some others quotations to be reported by the students with report speech.
See the next page with a quotation list.  (15mins.)

Ss share their information with the rest of the group to verify if they did it right. (10mins)



ANALISIS
T asks ss reading comprehension about the quotations to make sure they understand them. (10 mins)




PRACTICE
T asks ss to look for new quotations on internet and share them with the group for the next class, it´s going to be a homework activity.
